Gandia Beach Bliss
Our recent trip to the Beach of Gandia in Valencia(Platja de Gandia), Spain, was nothing short of magical. Nestled along the stunning Costa Valenciana, Gandia offers a blend of sun, sea, and cultural charm that makes it an ideal
destination for travellers seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Dear Lykkers! Let us share our journey with you and highlight why this beach should be at the top of your travel list.

Sun-Kissed Shores and Relaxation

As soon as we arrived at the Beach of Gandia, we were greeted by its golden sands stretching for over 7 kilometers and its crystal-clear waters. The beach is renowned for its clean and well-maintained environment, earning it Blue Flag status. We spent our days lounging under the sun, taking refreshing dips in the Mediterranean, and enjoying leisurely strolls along the promenade.

Must-See Attractions

Apart from the beach, Gandia has several attractions worth exploring. The Gandia Palace is a historic site that offers a glimpse into the city’s past. It’s a short walk from the beach, and we were captivated by its stunning architecture and well-preserved artifacts. Opening hours are from 10 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM, with an entrance fee of €5 per person.
For those interested in natural beauty, the Marjal de Gandia Natural Park provides a serene escape into nature. We took a guided tour which lasted about two hours and cost around €15. The park is a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.

Where to Stay: A Cozy Haven

Our stay at Hotel Gandia Palace was the highlight of our trip. Located just a short walk from the beach, this hotel offered unparalleled comfort and convenience. The rooms were modern and well-appointed, with beautiful views of the Mediterranean. We enjoyed a relaxing stay with rates starting at €120 per night for a double room. The hotel features a lovely pool area, a spa, and an on-site restaurant that serves delightful Mediterranean cuisine.

Savoring Local Delights

No visit to Gandia is complete without indulging in its local cuisine. We dined at La Fonda de Gandia , a charming eatery renowned for its traditional Spanish dishes. The paella, a local speciality, was a highlight of our meals. Priced at €18 per person, it was a delicious, hearty dish that captured the essence of Valencian cooking. We also sampled tapas such as patatas bravas and croquetas, each priced around €6 to €8, which were perfect for sharing.
For a sweet treat, we couldn’t resist trying the Farton , a local pastry often enjoyed with horchata, a refreshing drink made from tiger nuts. A portion of fartons cost about €4, and it paired wonderfully with the horchata, which was priced around €3 per glass.
Our time at the Beach of Gandia was an unforgettable experience filled with sun-soaked relaxation, cultural exploration, and culinary delights. Whether you’re seeking a tranquil beach getaway, an opportunity to explore local history, or simply a place to enjoy delicious food, Gandia offers something for everyone.
We left with fond memories and a desire to return to this charming corner of Spain. If you’re planning a trip to Valencia, make sure Gandia’s beach and attractions are on your itinerary.
